The things I enjoy most are people
and teaching and this page is about both. This page will be a
place for people to keep up with each others news and also a
place for me to do a little teaching. I thank Spirit for the
opportunity to do this. It is a great honor to work for the
people. If you have news you'd like to share, send me email and
I'll put it up so everyone can keep up with what's happening in
our family.I'll be putting articles here.at least once a week that
concern our way of life. I hope you enjoy them and that you will
let me know if there is something you are specially intersted in.

1. I decided to start here the same way we start all that we do.
With Honor. Honor of Spirit, the earth mother, each other, and
all of creation is the core of all that we do. We must honor
ourselves and each other to get along well. We honor the earth
mother for all that she gives us. We honor all natural creatures
that share our world and make it beautiful. One of the things that
I think helps us is that we honor our elders. The gifts of
knowledge and experience that they give us are priceless. I have
always enjoyed talking to elders and hearing the stories of their
youth. I've also had a lot of good advice from them. Their years
give us a different way of looking at things if we take advantage
of it. Our practice of honor offerings is another way of showing
respect and appreciation. Our elders and medicine people share
their knowledge with us freely. Showing them that we honor
their gifts is a priviledge to me, not an obligation. A gift to show
them that we honor their work is a nice thing to be able to do
and a lot more personal than payment would be. An honor
offering has a special meaning that both people appreciate. May
Spirit help us live with honor at all times.

2.Respect for our elders is very important to our way of life. We
honor all of creation. We show respect for those who have given
their time, effort, and knowledge for the people and the world
around them. Our elders, through their lives, have worked and
learned, and gained experience. They share this freely with all of
us. When we have questions, they do their best to give us
answers. If we are sick, they help us heal. When we are feeling
the pressures of the society we have to live in, they give us hugs
and help us remember who we are. The help us keep our feet on
our path and to do things in a sacred way. They laugh with us,
play with us, do ceremony with us and cry with us. We need to
rimind our elders that we appreciate their efforts. Our elders do
not need to work as hard when we gather together as they used
to. Things like hauling wood and water, cleaning, and preparing
meals are things that can be done for them, not by them. They
can be free to teach, heal, and counsel us. We have the benefit of
their experiences to draw on. All we need to do is listen. We
show respect by paying attention to what is taught . We try to
hear what is said, not what we want to hear. We also show
respect by helping when asked, sometimes without being asked.
Finally, we show our respect by saying THANK YOU often.
Thank you Spirit for teaching our elders so that they can share
that understanding with us. Thank you elders for being here for
us.

3.Spring is a time of renewal.Father Sky renews his commitment
to us with the warm sun of lengthening days. The earth mother
renews her commitment to us with the growth of plants that feed,
heal, and shelter us. We renew our commitment to Spirit, to each
other, to the path of the People. Our way is to live with honor.
To honor the earth mother by re-using all we can, not polluting
her with trash and chemicals. To treat each other with honesty
and courtesy. To honor all of our natural brothers and sisters, the
feathered and furred, the ones with leaves and flowers. We need
to remember our commitment to the People. To do ceremony
together, to be each others medicine. Sometimes we need to be
reminded that walking our path is a priviledge we need to earn,
not a right to be taken for granted. Many people gave much,
including their lives, to make it possible for us to do ceremony
and to keep our traditions in the sacred way of our ancestors. We
need to remember that only 30 years ago we could not legally do
ceremony or follow the traditional ways. Thank you elders, for
keeping our traditions alive for us. Thank you for keeping your
commitment to Spirit to honor the ways of our ancestors. This is
the time for all of us to renew. Renew our hearts, minds, and
spirits by taking time to see and appreciate all of the wonderful
things we are blessed with at this beautiful time of year.Take
time to look at the growing plants, to hear the song of returning
birds, and to say THANK YOU SPIRIT for all of the beauty of
our way of life. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________
4. One of our greatest blessings is our tribal family. Whether we are together or far apart, the love and respect we share are a very real presence in our lives. When one of us is hurt, all share that hurt and when one has joy, all rejoice with them. Like all families, we are not all the same. We have different education and experiences, different likes and dislikes. This is part of what makes our family so good. If we have a problem, there is someone who can help us. If we want to learn how to do something, there is someone who can teach us. Whenever we are together we learn from each other, have fun, and enjoy the love of Spirit that we all share. The spirit of all creation that we are all a part of makes our differences small. It reminds us that we are all a part of the circle of life. A circle does not have a top or bottom, a beginning or end. All parts of a circle are important. It is also very strong. A circle will sometimes bend, but it springs back just as strong as it was before. It lends us some of its strength when we hit a rough spot on our path. When every now and then we get impatient or irritated with aeach other, the circle reminds us that we are all part of Spirit and we try to understand and accept those parts of each other that cause bruised feelings. This is all part of our family circle. We will continue to be a strong circle as long as we remember who we are and where home is. Above all we need to remember that we are all children of Spirit and a part of the great circle of life

5.This could be a very discouraging time for all our people. Everywhere we look there are natural disasters, political problems,
and people doing horrible things to each other. Earth changes are
happening and very few recognize what is going on. Many people are finding their way home to a life where spirit and family come
first. We need the strength of the circle of family around us. We
need to celebrate all of the wonderful things that tell us where home is and what our family stands for. The joy of being with people who celebrate life, respect each others differences, and honor all life around them is great. Having a family that knows we are not perfect and loves us anyway is a blessing that we get when
ever we are together. We share a feeling of being part of something good, of being complete. All of our different strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, put together make a wonderful circle that cannot be broken. We may not always agree with all of our family but when one of us is hurt or in need of help, all of us will be there to give whatever help we can. This is our greatest strength.
Knowing that we are safe, that our hearts and spirits are safe, is what makes is whole. Celebrating life, spirit, and all that we are blessed with gives us joy. Knowing that we are an important part of all the world around us gives us purpose. Being together gives us the strength to remember who we are and where home is. Thank you spirit, for the wonderful differences is the earth that nourishes us and all that we share it with.

_6. With all the changes and tensions in the world, we need
to work together to remember what is important . We need
to stand together to help keep our earth mother from
being damaged any further, to help keep our brothers and
sisters safe, and give our elders the respect and
caring they have earned through the hard work they have
done.
We also have to remember that we need to stick together
and help each other stand by our beliefs. When we help
one of our people, we help all, when we hurt one, we
hurt all. We also enhance or damage our spiritual life
depending on how we treat others. It is our
responsibility to grow and learn and to be a hollow
bone for spirit.
As the spring brings new life, I hope that we can all
bring new life to our spiritual selves, that we can
look at the world every morning with the caring and
gratitude that having another day in this beautiful
world we live in deserves, that we can appreciate
each other and all of the differences that make each
of us special. Thank you spirit, for all of the trees,
rocks, plants, animals and people that make life so
very special.
